Una conmoción cerebral es una lesión en el cerebro. Se produce con un golpe en la cabeza, que hace que el cerebro se golpee contra la superficie ósea dura dentro del cráneo. Una lesión en otra parte del cuerpo que transmite la fuerza del golpe a la cabeza también puede causar una conmoción cerebral. La conmoción cerebral también se conoce como lesión por traumatismo cerebral (TBI, por sus siglas en ingles) leve.
